In the distant 1999 in Japan, PS1 was released RPG called Planet Laika . According to the description, the main character, the astronaut like, was to decide on Mars various puzzles. History was positioned as a psychological horror with a deep plot. The game was an exclusive for the Japanese market and was translated into English by enthusiasts in about 2020–2021.

In order to explain how the philosophy of Friedrich Nietzsche influenced history, I will have to briefly retell the beginning of the plot.

How did it all start?

So, in the framework of the game universe, people came into contact with the Martians. A peace treaty was signed between them, also known as an agreement on persons. According to this document, the Martians took human faces from people, and in return they transplanted dogs. Apparently, people reacted calmly to such a change, but for Martian human faces turned out to be a fatal poison, and the Martians died out. Mars becomes a planet, which is referred to by criminals, renegads and other unreliable personalities. Over time, the earthly leadership is thinking about the terror of Mars and sends the famous colonel Galil there there. However, the mission is not according to plan. Colonel sends a strange message to the ground: “God is dead. I am the light “and breaks off the connection. Ten years pass and earthlings have been making another attempt to understand what is happening. A new expedition sets off to Mars, which includes a Soviet mechanic with a call sign like (by the way, the player has the right to give a name to the hero himself, but the game will add the end of “nov”). This is the plot of this story.

Here I have to interrupt for a moment and report that there will be many plot spoilers, including the final of the game.

And here is Nietzsche?

Obviously, the professional military Galil, selected for a complex mission, has been accumulated by a considerable load throughout his life. The end point of this stage is a rebellion – a person must lose his weight and say loudly that he owes nothing to anyone. So the transformation begins into a lion. This is exactly what the colonel does. He refuses to fulfill the mission, he no longer wants to be an obedient soldier, he managed to find something more important, great goal that he wants to realize. Now no one in this world is a decree for him.

Nietzsche called the second stage of transformation “Leo”. This is a period of rebellion. A person must lose all the restrictions, public superstructures and morality. He needs to defend only one right – to be by oneself. This is exactly what Galil does. He claims that no restrictions are more powerful over him. He saw the light and is in the way of becoming true himself. He managed to get rid of fear, morality, duty and everything else. He is sure that Pure Good Person has become. However, this is not enough. The most important question that Nietzsche asks a person at this stage – what does it mean to be by himself? To answer, you need to go to the next stage. Having got rid of everything, the spirit strives to become free, but is not yet capable of creating anything.

It’s time to switch to the next stage, which is called “child”. Here the spirit finally gains freedom. He crosses the entire previous life with its imposed restrictions and superstructures. He has to re-know his life, but already without any influence from the outside. Accordingly, he himself will create new values, duty, morality, free from any social influence. Galil strives for this with all his being. Having become Pure Good Person, he is looking for his promised land, where he will finally gain freedom and become a new superman free from everything. But the entrance there is closed and in order to pick up the key to it, Galilu was needed the main character.

According to Nietzsche, you cannot complete your transformation without a fight. The superman will appear as a result of the natural struggle for leadership, which determines the most worthy of the worthy. Therefore, Galil needs a serious rival, whose role is like a like.

So, why exactly the husky can claim the role of the enemy of the colonel? The fact is that deep darkness is hidden in the heart of the hero. When meeting with the hero, his dark side terrifies both ordinary residents and local spirits, and even the light of the mirror of justice, which illuminates and absorbs evil, is not able to disperse the darkness living in the heart of likes. The only one that this darkness does not scare is Galil. He is sure that, having known himself, remembering the secrets of his past and accepting them, Lake (and to be the exact person of his personality, Phoenix) was able to find the very key – the cause of death. It is obvious that the rebirth without death is impossible, but it is impossible to die just like that for the formation of a superman, which means that you need to find that very reason. Galil needs this knowledge and, seeing the whole darkness of the hero, he is ready to reach out his hand and finally go to the promised earth, because Galil believes that his majestic light, his kind aura will protect him from the darkness of likes.

But, as often happens, Galil is mistaken. His light is not able to disperse the darkness, especially since there is not only all -consuming blackness inside the likes. Yes, on the hero and three of his personalities are heavy sins, from which they cannot be free. But there is another spirit that has been with his whole life with the hero. He saw everything that Like did, but was not able to do anything. The fact is that the hero has a tumor in the brain that has its own personality – Phoenix. He, in fact, is an ideal spirit for the formation of a superman. He went through all the stages: he accumulated the load living inside the husky (camel), all his creatures sought to free himself from the shackles of his existence (lion) and, thanks to the will of the planet itself, finally found a form, still locked in the body of likes, but striving to reject this alien body and start life from a clean leaf (child).

It is here that the finale comes. Having struck Galila the spirit of Phoenix gains true freedom. His consciousness merges with the energy of the planet, marking the birth of a fundamental new person. Like and his comrades are witnessing the origin of the same Nietzschean superman.
